The Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals is accepting applications for its 2023 Corporate Safety Award Program. This award recognizes companies or government agencies who have demonstrated a commitment to employee health & safety. To qualify applicants must have achieved an OSHA DART (Days Away From Work, Job Restriction or Job Transfer) Incidence Rate below the national average for their company’s/agency’s North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code.
The DART Incidence Rate Calculator and Comparison Tool are available through the Bureau of Labor Statistics at https://data.bls.gov/iirc/.
To obtain a DART rate using the Incidence Rate Calculator, you will need to enter the number of hours actually worked by all employees at your company/agency, the number of cases involving days away from work only and the number of cases involving job transfer or restricted work activity only, then select the most current year and an Area, Supersector, and Industry that best represents your company.
Qualifying applicants will be recognized at the virtual meeting in June and their company name/logo will be featured on an awards video posted to the ASSP NOVA LinkedIn page.
