Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Construction Safety Manager to oversee, implement, and enforce our safety programs across multiple commercial job sites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in OSHA regulations, specifically within the drywall and framing trades, and a passion for building a “safety-first” culture. You will work closely with project managers and field superintendents to identify hazards (specifically silica, fall protection, and scaffolding) and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Inspections & Compliance: Conduct daily/weekly site safety audits to ensure full compliance with OSHA and company policies, focusing on PPE, scaffolding, fall protection, and respiratory protection (silica dust).
  • Training & Education: Lead new-hire safety orientations, conduct weekly toolbox talks, and provide specialized training (e.g., forklift operation, scissor lift, OSHA 10/30).
  • Hazard Mitigation: Identify hazardous work conditions, develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and implement corrective actions.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near-misses, and injuries, performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Documentation: Maintain all safety records, injury logs (OSHA 300 logs), and SDS sheets.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary contact for OSHA inspections or insurance inspectors.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5+ years in construction safety management, with specific experience in drywall, metal framing, or interior systems.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (OSHA 500/510 preferred).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA 1926 standards, particularly fall protection, scaffolding, and silica standards.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills; proficiency in MS Office and safety reporting software.
  • Physical: Ability to visit active job sites, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
