Speaker:  Marta Fernandes, CSP – VOSH Program Director

Marta Fernandes is a Certified Safety Professional  (ASP/CSP) with over 15 years of experience providing leadership and mentorship in multiple organizations – nationally and internationally – ensuring adherence to applicable safety and health regulations and enhancing its Management Systems. Currently, she is the VOSH Program Safety Director at the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry, where she leads and guides a team of Regional Safety Directors, completing health and safety compliance inspections and accident/fatality investigations at numerous industries across the Commonwealth. Marta Fernandes holds a Master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Management (Msc) and an Environmental Engineering degree (Bsc) from the University of Aveiro (Portugal) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety with Columbia Southern University. She is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
